The Course
Hermitage Golf Course sits just outside Nashville and features two 18-hole championship layouts: General’s Retreat, built in 1986 along the Cumberland River and playing up to 6,800 yards, and President’s Reserve, a top-10 course in Tennessee stretching to 7,200 yards. Hermitage is also home to a flock of 65 Scottish Blackface sheep that roam the property — one of the more memorable sights in Santy Cup history.

2022 Recap
Series I came down to Nashville, with the two teams tied 1–1 heading in. Team Fante set the tone immediately, taking Thursday’s best ball session 3.5–1.5 and following it up with another 3.5–1.5 win Friday to build a commanding 7–3 lead. Team Higgins found some life in Saturday morning’s Shamble/Scramble, taking the session 3–2, but the deficit was too large to overcome.
Singles sealed it — Fante took 7 of 10 points to close the series out 16–9, clinching Series I 2–1. Jason Long, Captain Leo Fante, and Max Kadish anchored the win, none of the three dropping a single point all week.
Individually, Ron Smith authored one of the more remarkable performances in Cup history in his first-ever appearance — a wire-to-wire net -3 that broke the scoring record by eight shots, backed by 19 birdies across three rounds.
